Zone Swimming Carnival

On Tuesday 6th March, the Horsley Zone Swimming Carnival was held at Prairievale Leisure Centre. 26 Harrington Street students qualified for the carnival in a variety of events.

All students represented HSPS well in performance, effort and behaviour.

Some notable performances in the pool were:

Mylinh – named Horsley Zone Senior Girls Age Champion with 1st
place in backstroke, butterfly, 50m freestyle and a 2nd place in 100m freestyle.
Kaiden– named Horsley Zone Junior Boys Age Champion with 1st place in 50m freestyle, junior butterfly, backstroke and 2nd place in breaststroke.
Kayla achieved 1st place in 50m freestyle, junior backstroke and breaststroke. She also placed 2nd in junior girls butterfly.
Jacinta finished 1st in 8 yrs 50m freestyle, 3rd in 50m breaststroke.
Nelson – 2nd 50m freestyle and 3rd in junior 50m breaststroke.
Joshua – 2nd in junior butterfly and 4th in 10yrs 50m freestyle.
Mylan – 2nd in 11yrs butterfly.
Bridget– 3rd in 11yrs butterfly.
Winston placed 3rd in junior boys backstroke.
Kurtis finished 3rd in 9yrs 50m freestyle.

Our junior boys and girls relay teams also finished strongly in 1st place.

Overall, Harrington Street narrowly finished second in the Horsley Zone!

An impressive, 14 of our zone swimmers qualified for the SSW Regional Swimming carnival, which was held the following week on the 13th March at Bradbury Pool.
